Beyond disappointed and frustrated. My 6yo special needs child has been treated here before and had to be sedated to take care of cavities. I was impressed enough with the initial visits that, even after moving 2.5 hours north, when she needed more work done (namely 4 cavities) I simply drove down there with the referral. I was told by the doctor herself that she would be treating her with nitrous and would try to do this procedure without sedation (?!) and after my daughter was resistant and crying, and perhaps not responding to the nitrous very well, the doctor decided to simply put sealants on the affected teeth, told me there basically weren't enough problems to warrant putting her under (4 cavities aren't enough?? Or did she just not look closely enough at the referral??). She was extremely dismissive and the whole visit seemed in a hurry to end it, hardly offering any compassion to my clearly traumatized child, acting like her cries were silly or inconvenient. Smile Cascade will not return calls regarding a bill. I took my son for a filling and due to the extensive dental work the practice said he needed, I got a second opinion. The new place I went to did x-rays and showed me that the filling they did was leaking and would lead to more decay. They also said the extensive dental work needing to be done was not so extensive. I called Smile Cascade asking to have it redone or for them to not charge me so that I could get it done at the new place. They said that they would give me a call back regarding this. That was Feb 26th. I received a bill in April so I followed up in May and again was told I would get a call back. June 23rd I received another bill so I called on June 26 and spoke with a call center, they said a follow up call would be made Thursday July 2nd. I have not received a call from this practice yet. Today is July 22 and I received a final bill stating that if I don’t pay it, they will go to collections. My daughter also went to this practice and I would pay her bill but when I asked them to separate them, they didn’t and never returned a call. My first visit to Smile Cascade was great! Nice people in a modern office in a wooded setting. Dr Fitzpatrick is a very friendly fellow. This office is not trying to bill you for something that you don’t need. Hygienist Luke did a thorough job. Looking forward to my next visit in 6 months.

I've never had a problem with Smile until yesterday when I took my son to get a crown. Back story, my son who is 6 has a lot of anxiety at this dentist because they aren't his usual dentist. He was always referred somewhere else to be put completely under for any work in his mouth. They said that it wasn't safe for him to go under because it was just one tooth they had to work on. OK, I'll trust you. So when we came in yesterday he was crying because he was scared and the lady kept telling him if he didnt stop that mom (me) would have to leave. That obviously didn’t help. When he finally calmed down they put this rubber mouth piece in his mouth to hold it open and suck out the spit and water. They put numbing stuff on his tooth that they were going to work on, and when they took that out he started freaking out. They changed their plan and did something else. But when they were done he touched his front tooth (they were working on a molar) and his hand had blood on it. I looked at the tooth and they somehow hit it and knocked it super loose. It was barely wiggly when we went in. He freaked out because they hurt his tooth and he got scared it was going to fall out while he was layi

I just want to share the experience I had with Smile Dental on Cascade rd in Grand Rapids Michigan. I brought my grandson their to have his teeth checked and was given a sheet of everything that needed to be done with a Price for everything 287.00. The first visit they were only able to pull two teeth so I was charged 80.00 dollars . I returned for my second scheduled appointment and was told some changes had to be made to our original plan due to the fact that he has Two Baby teeth that needed to be filled. Well the fillings weren’t going to be a wise decision because his cavity was too big so they wanted to do crowns me not knowing the difference said ok whatever is Best for him so they did Crowns. On my way checking out my bill was $566.00 I’m looking like what is this we had a agreement for 287.00 for everything and even though we made a change wasn’t thinking my bill would be $566.00 for two Baby teeth that is coming out in a year. They decided without letting me know the price was $419 per tooth . 86.00 per tooth for the sealant and something called a Therapeutic Pulpotomu that was $338.00. We are talking about Baby teeth that they say will come out soon because he is 9 and
